As humans, we take advantage of what we have. We have eyes to see, ears to hear and mouth to eat. But there are individuals out there that are not as fortunate. It is estimated that there are 3-4 percents of people in the US experiences vision problems or blindness.
Grocery shopping is something not everyone love to do but it is something we all needed to do. I personally love grocery shopping because of my love for cooking and food. I research and realise that the Grocery store and supermarket have lack of support for accessibility and the system is old and in need of improvement. This Spark my interest in improving the experiences of grocery shopping.
Grocery store and supermarket do have support for different accessibility, but I think the least support is a blinded or visual impair group of people. I wanted to bridge the Gap of equality and opportunity for people who are blind or visually impaired as well as helping them give their individuality back and make them feel independent again.
Designed to be focus solely on visual impairment, I needed to design a system that ergonomically functional.
Add features that have inverse color is important for visual impair users, and that could help them see the button they desire to push more easier.
Inspire by POS company like Square, VeriFone, and Clover. Having simple aesthetics with functional and ergonomic design.
