Advance Prototyping project | 3rd Year 5 Months
Cruise ships are large passenger ships used mainly for vacationing. Cruising has become a major part of the tourism industry, with an estimated market of $29.4 billion per year, and over 19 million passengers carried worldwide annually as of 2011. The industry's rapid growth has seen nine or more newly built ships catering to a North American clientele added every year since 2001, as well as others servicing European clientele.

Cruises are an essential and popular tourist attraction. More and more companies are starting to build their cruises with technology in mind. Companies such as RoyalCoribbian have ships evolve around technology to attract more younger customers. I wanted to build a robot that could be deployed in ships to assist the customer and help them get the best experiences while they enjoy their vacation.

Front Delivery Storage
Front delivery storage is made for delivering smaller item such as food, or private items that has to be safe keeping while the robot is travelling to desire location. The Door is made of glass and plastic and can’t be open until confirmation.

Powder Coated Bed
Powder Coated Bed helps secure luggage 20 inches by 10 inches. The Bed door latch can also be opened to carry a person for assistance/emergency.

Tow Hook
Built-in rear Tow Hook helps employees pull heavy items, in turns create a safer and efficient working environment and morale.

Hydraulic Suspension
Mainly used for protecting items progress in delivery, the hydraulic suspension is made for damping out road surface that the robot might encounter while travelling. But the feature was also made for entertainment purpose, which allows the robot to “shakes it hips” and move left and right.

Luggage Carrier
The Robot is designed for humans to interact and request services. To ensure users enjoyable vacation, luggage carrier uses AI to translate, hold conversations, custom personal experiences, ordering items, as well as navigate around the area that they are assigned to. To fit in a hallway of a cruise ship, and navigate the ship without a problem, because of the small compact size the robot can use in many different places.
